History:
Formed in 2000 to tackle issues in Kirkendale Environmental Park Nerang [weed infestation, dumping of residential rubbish] the group has planted over 3000 trees and removed the weed infestation from this tributary of the Nerang River. It later moved to Hurst Park to tackle the weed infestation of Cats Claw and Madeira vine. It has also been involved in projects with Main Roads of Queensland at a number of sites in the area. As a group we have recently relocated to Weedons Crossing [Nerang] as a new long-term site for our endeavors to work toward the restoration of the River.
